Walkerbay Dunes Lodge in Stanford

Walkerbay Dunes Lodge in Stanford has five double rooms: Superior Queen, Luxury Queen, Comfort Queen, and Standard Queen. All rooms are non-smoking and include a private bathroom, balcony, mountain views, work desk, minibar, and free toiletries. Interconnecting rooms are available. Large sliding doors and a deck open to sunrise and sunset views. Coffee and tea options are extensive.

A continental and à la carte breakfast is served daily with warm dishes, fresh pastries, cheese, fruits, and juice. Warm items are cooked to order, and breakfast is included with the room. Special diet menus are available on request. Guests can book dinner at the lodge; the kitchen adjusts meals to dietary needs. Wine and champagne are offered.

The outdoor swimming pool is open all year round and has a shallow end. There is also a hot tub, terrace, outdoor furniture, and BBQ facilities. The lodge sits inside the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, between De Kelders/Gansbaai and Stanford, surrounded by fynbos. It is about 2 km from the main road along a rough dirt track; a car with decent ground clearance is recommended, but a 4x4 is not required. A 7 km 4x4 trail leads to a deserted 15 km beach. Whale watching trips run nearby with Ivanhoe Sea Safaris. Cape Town International Airport is 100 km away.

Free WiFi is available in public areas. The lodge offers luggage storage, currency exchange, parking, and invoices on request. CCTV, fire extinguishers, and a security alarm are on site. Pets are allowed. The hosts can arrange beach picnics, recommend local restaurants, and adjust meals and hot tub temperature to guest requests. They are friendly and go out of their way to help.
